The Al Yamamah University Scholarship Program rewards high achievement among YU’s students by providing recipients with grants of up to 50% of their tuition costs. The program enables qualifying students to concentrate upon their studies without the distractions caused by financial need or uncertainty.
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for the Al Yamamah University Scholarship program:
Have a high school certificate from a school in Saudi Arabia or any school recognized by the Ministry of Education. The certificate should be stamped by the ministry and not more than five years old.
Have a minimum high school grade of 93% (or equivalent) and a minimum score of 85% on the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat) administered by National Center for Assessment in Higher Education, OR: have a minimum weighted score of 91% where the high school grade is weighted 70% and the Qudurat is weighted 30%.
Applicants with a high school certificate issued outside Saudi Arabia are required to take the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat) administered by National Center for Assessment in Higher Education (Qiyas) or another aptitude test specified by Al Yamamah University.
To remain eligible for the scholarship, the student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3/4 or higher. If the GPA falls below the required minimum, the student will be notified and will have two semesters to achieve the required GPA.
If the student fails to achieve the required minimum (in point 4 above), the scholarship is terminated and the student will be required to pay full tuition until he/she meets the GPA requirement.
The amount of the scholarship is as follows: S.R.15,000 for each main semester and S.R.8,000 for each summer semester. Students who achieve a GPA of 3.75/4 or higher are entitled to a 10% tuition discount for the applicable semesters.
Students cannot receive more than one scholarship at the same time.
The university reserves the right to terminate scholarships as it deems appropriate.
Applicants should submit documents documenting their legal residency in Saudi Arabia.
